We came to the recently opened, Rhea's Cafe in the Mission District, eager to try their Korean sandwiches, made famous at their market and deli location. Upon arrival, we discovered that their sandwich menu wasn't available until 3:00 PM on weekends and in it's place was their brunch menu. Unique Korean sandwiches are their specialty, so we were a bit skeptical to give their brunch a go. However, hunger quickly won over in the end as we settled in to give the cafe a test run.
Still very new, there were several seating options available. (I love a place without a wait!)
We ordered their Egg and Biscuit sandwich
(buttermilk biscuit, fried egg, tomatoes, arugula, and a side of potatoes)
One with sausage and
one without, but both very tasty! The biscuit was nice and buttery, filled with fresh ingredients and seasoned just right. The potatoes were lightly salted, crispy and full of yum!
The egg and biscuit sandwich is a must order if you're in the neighborhood.
The bright open space and outdoor seating options are perfect for a clear sunny day in the colorful Mission district.
I'm determined to return again (after 3:00) to try their other menu options!
